Script & Lettering Tattoo Artist in Phoenix

Lettering is drawn, not typed. Every piece is built by hand around your words, the place it sits, and how it needs to read in ten years.

Drawn for your words

A font stretched to fit a forearm never quite looks right. I draw lettering to the specific words you have chosen, which means the spacing, the weight and the flow are built around your phrase rather than borrowed from a typeface and hoped for the best.

Readability comes first

Script has to survive being read. That means enough separation between letters, enough weight in the strokes, and enough room around the whole piece. Very thin, very tight lettering can close up over the years, so I size it to stay legible.

Following the body

Lettering along a forearm, a collarbone, a spine or a ribcage each needs a different curve. I set the baseline to the body rather than running text straight across it, so the words sit naturally instead of fighting the shape underneath.

Names and memorial work

A lot of lettering carries real weight. Names, dates, someone's handwriting. If you have a photograph of the original handwriting, bring it. I can work from it directly and keep the character of it intact.

Aliza is an amazing artist… she made the vision in my head come reality & she has such a soft touch… I’m also slightly ticklish but she’s a pro 💞

Questions

Before You Book

Can you tattoo someone's actual handwriting?

Yes. Bring a clear photo or scan of the original writing. The cleaner the source, the more faithfully it translates.

How small can lettering go?

It depends on the words and the placement. Short pieces can go quite small; longer phrases need room to stay readable. I will tell you honestly if something needs to be larger to last.

Can you design the wording in a specific language or alphabet?

Yes, though I will ask you to confirm the exact spelling and characters in writing beforehand. For anything I cannot read myself, that confirmation matters.

How much does a script tattoo cost?

Smaller lettering is quoted individually. Larger pieces are booked at the day rate: $650 half day, $850 full day. The pricing guide explains estimates and deposits.

Start your lettering

Send me the exact wording, where you would like it, and any handwriting or style references. I will draw something around it and we can refine from there.
